لقد عاهدتني يا لازاروس أن نلتقي في شارع المتنبي! عند مكتبة نعيم الشطيري! لكنك لم تأتي! كنتُ كل يوم أتفقد بريد الرسائل وأفتش بين الإعلانات الباهتة والدعوات المكررة عن رسالتك المختومة بحبيبتي لكنها لم تكن هناك، ولا أنت كنت!!!! مر الشتاء وجاء الربيع ومات نعيم الشطيري ولم نلتقي بعد..!!

الفينيق (العنقاء) طائر أسطوري الذي خرج من الجنة، بجمال لا يوصف، دثاره الحكمة، اتّجه إلى الأرض ليختبر فيها الحياة.
استوقفته أثناء تجواله رائحة اللبان والبخور الصنوبري المنبعثة من أعلى شجر الأرز في لبنان. فبنى عشه واستوطن فيه. ومن أعالي الأرز كان ينشد أعذب الألحان ويتشارك مع الأفلاك السماوية نغماتها.

أتسألينَ عن علاقتي بها؟ 
إليكِ ما أنا عليه دونكِ. 
أنا رجلٌ مِنْ لحظةِ فراقنا باتتْ رجولتي متهالكة.
قلبي تحطّمَ ولم تقوَ أنثى على ترميمِ أجزائهِ.
مشاعري تجمّدت، في ثلّاجةِ أيّامِكِ الخالدة .
ذاكرتي لا تحتفظُ إلّا بصوتِ أنفاسِكِ وتنهُّداتِكِ.
نظري يرى كلَّ النّساءِ أنتِ وكلَّ الجمالِ عينيكِ.
سمعي ما زالَ مُرهفًا لرنينِ ضحكاتِكِ الرّزينةِ.
إحساسي دُفِنَ بيدِيكِ بعدَ أنْ سُلِخْتِ عن وجهي.
 
إنّها معي وأنا لسْتُ معها.
ليسَ هناكَ ما تستطيعُ أنْ تملكَِهُ. قلبي ما زالَ مُلْكَكِ. عقلي ما زالَ سجينَكِ. عواطفي تحتضرُ أمامَ شريطِ ذكرياتِنا ؛ لم تتركي لي حتّى الغمراتِ، فشلَتْ يدايَ وأنا أعانقُ سرابَكِ.
أنا معها فقط لحظةَ أتخيّلُها أنتِ.

أيُّ رَجُلٍ أنا ؟ما لي لا أستطيعُ أنْ أتخطّى رحيلَ أنثى؟
ما لي أترُكُ الكونَ وضجيجَهُ لأنزويَ في غرفتي، لأُصغيَ لصوتِكِ الّذي ينبعُ مِنْ جدرانِها لمّا أحبَبْتِني بجنونٍ، لمّا كُنْتِ الكُلِّ والعدمَ
لمّا اخترتِني أنا ؟
رُغمَ كلِّ مأساتي ومُعاناتي لرحيلِكِ ولكنّني أرى أنّني محظوظٌ
محظوظٌ لأنّكِ نادَيْتِني حبيبي وعمري وروحي.
محظوظٌ لأنّي غفوْتُ مرّةً على ركبتيكِ. 
محظوظٌ لأنّي لَمَسْتُ شعرَكِ الدّاكنَ وَبَعْثَرْتُهُ.
محظوظٌ لأنّي قبّلْتُكِ وَلَمَسْتُكِ وَتَنَشّقْتُكِ.
محظوظٌ لأنّني تأمّلْتُ غفوةَ عينيكِ.
محظوظٌ لأنّني كنْتُ و مازلْتُ مُلْكَكِ.
محظوظٌ لأنّكِ كُنْتِ طفلتي وَحُبَّ حياتي.
